Pascual Ruiz clears Le Normand: 'Pubill was to blame against Bayern'
Rubén Uría and Blanca Sánchez disagree, and the debate sets the chat alight
Pascual Ruiz defends his theory about the mistake against Bayern while Rubén Uría rejects it
Pascual argues that Robin Le Normand was trying to clear the ball when Pubill cut across him and left him exposed. Uría replies that, at most, both share the blame and that the Spanish-French defender had more than enough time.
Rubén Uría raises the question of who should play at right-back against Barça: Marcos Llorente, or Marc Pubill with Robin Le Normand in the centre of defence. Pascual picks Llorente, but takes the opportunity to make a case that, in his view, is not being heard enough: the play that led to Bayern's first goal was not Le Normand's fault.
According to Pascual, the replay shows the centre-back was about to put the ball out, but Pubill stepped in front of him without intending to touch it, leaving him exposed. He admits he is not Robin's biggest fan and that his season has not been a good one, but insists that Pubill was mainly responsible.
Uría, for his part, does not buy it. He believes Pubill could not see him and that Le Normand had a couple of seconds to get the ball away. He would accept a 50-50 split of the blame, but not that the Frenchman is blameless. Pascual clarifies that the mistake of trying to control the ball inside the box only came after he had to pull out of the clearance when his teammate cut across him.
Blanca Sánchez shares out the blame, though she puts more of it on Le Normand, who had the ball, and points out that throughout the match she saw the two centre-backs getting in each other's way and failing to communicate.
