Fernando Torres, Adelardo and Amanda Sampedro: captains against bullying
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation launches a campaign featuring three generations and one armband
The Atlético Foundation's anti-bullying video is shown live
Rubén Uría presents the Atleti Foundation's anti-bullying video and explains why he is proud to see his club fly that flag: Atleti is about much more than winning or losing.
Rubén Uría presented the latest campaign from the Atlético de Madrid Foundation to the El Club Uría audience: three generations, one armband and a shared commitment against bullying in schools. Adelardo, Fernando Torres and Amanda Sampedro are the faces and voices of the message.
Rubén pointed out that there are children in schools who suffer bullying and cyberbullying, and that this harassment does a great deal of harm. The video makes the point that in the game you compete, you fall and you make mistakes, but you know when something is not right. Recognising it is the first step to stopping it, and we can all choose not to look the other way. A team does not prove itself only when it wins, but also when it protects and stands up for one of its own. And it concludes: we are all captains.
Uría welcomed the initiative and the choice of ambassadors, whom he regards as the embodiment of the club's crest.
