Rubén Uría runs through the injury list ahead of Atlético de Madrid v FC Barcelona: Johnny Cardoso is back on the pitch and Simeone will have up to four options for his double pivot. Barça arrive without Rodri or Dani Olmo.
Three days before Atlético de Madrid v FC Barcelona, Rubén Uría opens 'El Club de Uría' with the injury news from both camps. The big news for Atleti is the return of Johnny Cardoso, who trained with the substitutes and looks set to make Sunday's squad.
He is not the only one coming back. Hjulmand, suspended in the Champions League, is available in the league, so Simeone will be able to choose in midfield between Cardoso, Pablo Barrios, Koke and Hjulmand himself, as well as Obed Vargas and Rodrigo Mendoza.
Barça also have absentees: Eric García will miss out, Xavi Espart looks unlikely to feature and Dani Olmo will sit the game out. The biggest absence is Rodri, the Ballon d'Or winner, who will be out for a month and will be unable to face his former club.
On 'Cuti' Romero, Uría admits that everything surrounding his injury is a mystery, but insists the club's aim is for him to be ready for the game against Getafe. To reassure supporters, Rubén confirms that Pablo Barrios has trained normally and will be available.
