Rubén Uría pays tribute to his late father three years on
El Club Uría was born of his father's wish: a daily show for Atleti fans
An emotional Rubén Uría explains that the daily show was his father's idea
Before turning to football, Rubén Uría pauses his live stream to remember that his father died three years ago. He shares some emotional words and reveals that the show was his father's idea.
The live stream opens with the usual build-up to Levante v Atlético, but Rubén Uría asks permission to stop and reflect on the date: 30 October. For many it is just another day; for him, it is the day that changed his life, because on that day, three years ago, his father died.
Uría says his father is still with him in every step he takes, in every mistake and in every word, and admits he misses him every second. He speaks of the enormous void his father left and of how he carries on "in the trenches, fighting".
The most revealing moment comes when he explains how the show began: his father's great wish was for Atleti fans to have a daily space for news and discussion. "It was my father's idea, and here we are following in his footsteps," he sums up. He closes with a direct message: "I love you very much, Dad, we're still here holding on."
