Do Atlético de Madrid miss Antoine Griezmann?
The verdict will have to wait until March and April, when the games that decide the season arrive
Rubén Uría, Pascual Ruiz, Blanca Sánchez and Nacho Donado debate whether Atlético de Madrid miss Antoine Griezmann.
Blanca Sánchez misses Antoine Griezmann every day and believes he would turn draws into wins. Nacho Donado admires him, but argues that Álex Baena, Kang-In Lee and 'Cuti' Romero have not made him miss the Frenchman in a single game.
A viewer asks the panel whether they miss Antoine Griezmann. Rubén Uría says yes, every single day, just like Blanca. She, however, extends that to José María Giménez: she misses both of them every day.
Nacho Donado disagrees. His affection for the Frenchman is enormous, but in footballing terms he does not miss them: the work of Kang-In Lee, Álex Baena and 'Cuti' Romero has not made him feel the absence of Griezmann or Giménez in any game. Sentimentally, it is a different matter.
Blanca also separates the sentimental from the footballing, but she insists: however much Baena has stepped up and however well Kang-In Lee is playing, Griezmann is unique and one of a kind, and in certain situations he would turn a narrow result into a more comfortable win.
Nacho Donado closes with one thought: October is not the time to miss Griezmann. March and April are when it will really become clear whether he is missed or not, as that is when much of the season's objectives are decided.
