Did Cuti Romero go up front on his own, or did Simeone send him?
Hugo Condés says he saw it with his own eyes 30 seconds before the goal
Hugo Condés insists Simeone sent Cuti Romero forward
Rubén Uría had said that Cuti Romero decided on his own to stay up front as a number nine. Hugo Condés disagrees, insisting Simeone told him to go forward and try to snatch one. And along the way, a nickname: Kuti is the wolf.
Rubén Uría had read Cuti Romero's goal as a personal decision by the centre-back, who stayed up front as a number nine because he wanted to. Hugo Condés, who was at Mendizorroza, offers a different version: around 30 seconds before the goal, Simeone told him to push forward and see if he could snatch one.
Condés insists that he did not go up on his own and that he saw it with his own eyes. Uría ends up conceding that Simeone must know something about this, and that perhaps someone asked the centre-back where he was going and he simply stayed up there.
The conversation ends with a playful touch: if Cuti were an animal at the zoo, he would be the wolf. Uría promises to play the howl and dubs him Mr Wolf.
