Cuti Romero a doubt for Atlético's clash with Bayern Munich

Rubén Uría and Nacho Donado read between the lines of the press conference: 'Cuti' Romero is a serious doubt for Bayern, and Le Normand is now the favourite to take his place.

Rubén Uría considers it significant that, when Nacho Donado included Cuti Romero in his question to Simeone, the coach spoke about Cardoso and Koke but not about the centre-back. Uría insists on reporting only what is known, without playing fortune-teller or doctor, and concludes that at half past five in the afternoon, a day before the match, Cuti is a doubt.

Nacho Donado goes further: a doubt, and a serious one. He explains that it is extremely rare for a player who does not train the day before to play in the match. Rubén Uría even explains that, as recently as this morning, he thought Romero would play, as he had been included in the squad against Levante, and the natural step would be to play against the Germans. However, given how the morning has unfolded and Simeone's words at the press conference, Uría believes 'Cuti' is, without doubt, a reasonable doubt for the Champions League match.

Time for Robin Le Normand?

If the Argentinian misses out, it would be Robin Le Normand's turn. Donado links this to the minutes Simeone has given him this season, precisely in case Llorente had to be moved forward or in case Cuti was not fit, two circumstances that now coincide. In his view, Le Normand is now the man with the best chance.
