The UEFA refereeing 'blacklist' Atlético de Madrid keep suffering
Rubén Uría urges the club not to put up with it a second longer
Rubén Uría tallies up the refereeing errors against Atlético in the Champions League
After going through the incidents with Nacho Donado, Rubén Uría does the maths: three huge mistakes in one season, three in another and four in this one. Leaving Milan aside, he says, Atlético cannot tolerate it.
Rubén Uría wraps up the refereeing segment with a reflection of his own. He admits there have also been decisions that went Atlético's way and that there is nothing wrong with saying so, but he insists that the mistakes of the last three years have been extremely serious.
He does not want to get into the Milan final, which he describes as the mother of all robberies and which cost the club a Champions League. Even so, without digging too deep and sticking to the last three seasons, the list writes itself: three huge mistakes in one, three in another and four so far this campaign. Ten blatant errors.

Real Madrid 2-1 Atlético Madrid. Brahim goal not ruled out despite Vinicius being in an offside position
Atlético Madrid 1-0 Real Madrid. Julián's double touch
2025/26 SEASON
Atlético Madrid 2-1 Union Saint-Gilloise. Penalty not given on Sørloth.
Atlético de Madrid 1-1 Arsenal. A very harsh penalty given for Gyokeres.
Arsenal 1-0 Atlético Madrid. Penalty: Gabriel on Giuliano. Penalty: Calafiori on Giuliano (offside given in his own half). Penalty on Griezmann (an earlier foul by Pubill given instead).
2026/27 SEASON
Liverpool 2-1 Atlético Madrid. Red card let off for MacAllister and penalty for handball by Víctor Muñoz.
Atlético Madrid 2-0 Manchester United. Goal ruled out for Johnny.
Stuttgart 1-1 Atlético Madrid. Penalty not given on Hancko.
That is too many mistakes in just three seasons in Europe. Atlético de Madrid should lodge a formal complaint with UEFA, because they are going through truly astonishing refereeing situations, with decisions that are hurting them and errors that are not a matter of interpretation but of misapplying the rules.
