Stefan Džodić: how Atlético's Almería midfield target plays
He is 21, a full Serbia international and has a €40 million release clause
Borja Aranda analyses the profile of the Almería midfielder
Borja Aranda profiles the Almería midfielder who, according to 'Marca', has caught Atlético's eye: complete, balanced and good at playing out from the back. His doubt is whether he is ready yet.
Atlético de Madrid are reportedly interested in Stefan Džodić. That is according to Matteo Moretto in 'Marca'. On 'El Club de Uría', following the report, Rubén Uría asked Borja Aranda about the Serbian Almería midfielder who has caught Atlético de Madrid's attention.
Aranda describes him as "a fairly complete central midfielder". He arrived from Montpellier at a very young age, struggled at first and is now an undisputed starter; the only matches he has missed came during the international break. "He gives the team balance, he's good at bringing the ball out and he's very efficient at winning it back," says Borja Aranda.
His doubt is whether the player is ready yet for the Atleti first team. He sees him as an interesting investment and applauds the club for looking to the Liga Hypermotion, Spain's second tier, for players with potential. He points out that, at 21, Džodić has already made his debut for the Serbia senior side and can play either as a holding midfielder or alongside one.
