Simeone hails Harry Kane: 'He's a role model for young players'
The Atlético boss congratulates the Ballon d'Or winner on the eve of the clash with Bayern
El Club Uría airs Simeone's comments on Harry Kane
In the build-up to the Champions League tie, Diego Simeone heaps praise on Harry Kane, calling him a deserving Ballon d'Or winner, a committed goalscorer and an example for young players.
Rubén Uría regrets that Harry Kane was not asked about Atlético at Bayern's press conference, and points out that the one who did talk about him was Simeone.
The Atlético coach began by congratulating him on a Ballon d'Or he believes was deserved, and said he has always liked him as a player. He highlighted Kane's growth and maturity: over the years he has found better areas to play in without straying from what he does best, scoring goals. Simeone sees him as committed to the work and to helping the team build from the back.
Simeone added that Kane does football a great deal of good, especially for youngsters who look up to players like him, because he leaves a legacy of how far hard work can take you. Uría signed off with a touch of humour: a superb footballer, but let's hope Atleti don't suffer at his hands tomorrow.
