Lookman concern at Atlético: has he lost his confidence?

With the victory already dissected, Rubén Uría raises the one thing he says genuinely concerns him about the match: the Lookman situation. He sees a player full of doubt, as if going through a crisis of confidence.

One of the panellists takes up the point and is even harsher. He says he has been saying it for months, that he has watched him in training and in pre-season and that nothing has changed. He acknowledges that Lookman is a player with goals in him, capable of scoring within three minutes as he did against Manchester United, but sees him as utterly lost. In his view, he was the only player who contributed nothing in the entire match. He admits that Lookman's level is far higher, that there will be moments when he comes back to life, and he understands why the club has invested in him, but his verdict is that right now he adds nothing to Atlético de Madrid.

Uría closes with the disappointment of someone who expected more: they thought the goal against Manchester United would lift his morale, Simeone backed him with a place in the starting XI and yet the player is simply not at his sharpest.
