How Atlético's new season ticket card will work from 2027-28

Pascual Ruiz Arnal brings the club's official explanation of the virtual card back from training. All members will still receive a physical card, but getting through the turnstiles will require the Atlético app, with exceptions for older supporters and people with disabilities.

Pascu arrives from Majadahonda and, as well as reporting that the whole squad was available, clears up one of the controversies of recent days: the switch from the physical card to a virtual one. According to the explanation the club gave him, from next season all members will still receive their membership card, featuring the image of a player as before.

The difference will come at the stadium entrance. To get through the turnstiles, fans will have to use the Atlético de Madrid app, which can be saved to a phone wallet, because the club estimates that a very high percentage of season ticket holders already use it and that only that system is used at other events.

Older supporters and people with a disability will receive a physical card different from the membership card, for example in a single colour, so the two are not confused. This season, until May, season ticket holders will keep the current Griezmann and Forlán card, the last physical season ticket. The change will apply from the 2027-28 season. Rubén Uría jokes that Pascu explained it like a club spokesman.
