Exclusive: Julián Álvarez splits with agent Fernando Hidalgo
Rubén Uría confirms the striker is leaving his agent over the way his future was handled in the summer
Rubén Uría explains live why Julián Álvarez has stopped working with Fernando Hidalgo
Rubén Uría breaks the story of the day on El Club Uría: Julián Álvarez and his family have stopped working with Fernando Hidalgo. The striker was unhappy with how his future was managed, and Atlético played no part in the decision.
The live stream opens with an exclusive. Rubén Uría confirms that Julián Álvarez has decided to part ways with Fernando Hidalgo, his representative until now. The possibility had been doing the rounds for hours, and Uría says he has it confirmed one hundred per cent.
According to his information, the professional relationship was not at its best, and it was Julián and his family who made the decision to end it. The deciding factor was the handling of the player's future last summer, which left him dissatisfied and, in the journalist's words, disappointed and even annoyed.
Uría stresses one point: Atlético de Madrid did not make Hidalgo's departure a condition, nor did the club recommend or demand anything. The club has always said, publicly and privately, that Julián was being badly advised, but this is a personal decision by the striker, "a decision about the future, a life decision", taken after everything that happened in the summer.
