Barça fined a ridiculous €602 over Julián Álvarez approach
The Spanish Football Federation applies Article 133 after Atlético's complaint, just as it did over Griezmann in 2019
Rubén Uría tots up Barça's fines over Griezmann and Julián
Rubén Uría breaks the news: the Spanish Football Federation has fined Barça €602 over the Julián Álvarez case. Add the €300 from the Griezmann case, and approaching players under contract at Atleti comes to €900.
Right at the start of the show, Rubén Uría announced a piece of breaking news: the Spanish Football Federation has fined FC Barcelona €602. The sanction follows the complaint lodged by Atlético de Madrid over the way the Catalan club approached Julián Álvarez, and is based on Article 133 of the regulations.
Uría made no attempt to hide his irony. For him, the amount shows that this kind of conduct comes at practically no cost. He recalled the precedent from 2019, when Atleti reported Barça over the Griezmann case and the fine was €300.
His final tally is damning: between Griezmann and Julián, both under contract with Atlético at the time, Barça have paid €900 in total. That, according to Uría, is what it costs to approach Atlético de Madrid players under the current federation regulations.
