Atlético Madrileño 4-4 Zaragoza: the fallout from a crazy draw
Jorge San Cristóbal points to the two penalties conceded and defends Taufi and Miguel Gil
Jorge San Cristóbal analyses the Madrileño's draw beside the Metropolitano crest
Fernando Torres's reserve side were 4-2 up against Real Zaragoza in stoppage time and ended up drawing. Jorge San Cristóbal analyses the defensive errors, praises the Madrileño's attacking play and calls for support for the player who gave away the final penalty.
Rubén Uría links up with Jorge San Cristóbal to discuss Atlético Madrileño 4-4 Real Zaragoza in Primera Federación, Spain's third tier. The reserve side were 4-2 up deep into stoppage time and ended up drawing. The presenter argues that the Madrileño did everything to win, but San Cristóbal offers a caveat: they also did everything to drop points.
The journalist recalls that the first penalty, which the goalkeeper ended up saving, was "as clear as day", and that Miguel Gil, on his first start, slipped in the build-up to the equaliser. Even so, he believes the team were very good going forward and even deserved more goals. Domenech, Miguel Gil, who opened his account for the Madrileño, and David Muñoz were on the scoresheet, and there were several more chances.
For San Cristóbal, it is inconceivable to let a 4-2 lead slip in the 98th minute. He can understand a lapse at 4-3, but not the penalty in the 100th minute. He asks for support for Taufi, who conceded it: he is barely playing and lacks match rhythm. He signs off by admitting he is "a bit of a jinx", the kind who never considers a game won until the final whistle.
