Rubén Uría breaks down Cuti Romero's injury: a muscle strain that will keep him out for 10 to 12 days and at least two matches. The club is not alarmed, as it expects to have him back for Bayern and Barça.
The big news of the day at El Club Uría is that Cristian Romero will miss the Champions League game against Stuttgart. Rubén Uría points out that the Argentine asked to come off at Cornellà and that Simeone substituted him for that reason. After undergoing medical tests over the last few hours, Cuti did not travel to Germany as a precaution.
According to the medical report, he has a muscle strain that will keep him out of action for between 10 and 12 days. That means he will miss, at the very least, the Champions League match and the next LaLiga fixture.
Uría calls for calm: the medical staff and the club expect the centre-back to be fully fit for the crucial games ahead against Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. And he welcomes that, because in his view Cuti is becoming an indispensable player: he is the leader of the defence and, in Uría's opinion, the leader of the team as well.
