Rubén Uría announces live that Gil Marín has been named LaLiga's first vice-president
Rubén Uría reports a story that has slipped largely under the radar: Atlético chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil Marín has been appointed LaLiga's first vice-president without the need for a vote.
In the build-up to Espanyol vs Atlético, Rubén Uría paused to discuss a late-breaking story that, as he acknowledged, has not received much attention. In line with LaLiga's electoral timetable, the candidacies have now been officially confirmed and, under the regulations, several appointments have been made without the need for a vote.
Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, chief executive of Atlético de Madrid, has been chosen as LaLiga's new first vice-president. The second vice-presidency goes to SD Eibar. In both cases, as only one candidacy was submitted for each vacancy, the appointments were made directly without a vote.
The delegated committee will be made up of Sevilla FC, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Betis, Deportivo Alavés and Villarreal CF.
