Alberto Carballo calls it: "I think Sorloth will start"
The bet nobody was making — and Simeone's starting XI proved him right

While the panel debates between Kangin Lee and Jonathan David, Alberto Carballo throws another option into the mix: Sorloth from the start. He makes his case based on Simeone, the type of game and the long ball. Hours later, the line-up would prove him right.
In the panel discussion about Atlético's starting XI, the main question mark seems to be up front: Kangin Lee or Jonathan David alongside Julián Álvarez. Alberto Carballo goes off script: he wouldn't be surprised to see Sorloth in the starting line-up.
His reasons: the type of game, the kind of coach Simeone is and past experience. With Sorloth up front, Julián can operate just behind him, the Norwegian pins the centre-backs, goes long when needed and helps out if the Atleti come under pressure and need set pieces. He admits it wouldn't be the most usual choice, and that the logical option is the one his colleague suggests, but his feeling is that Sorloth will be a resource called upon a lot.
He also offers a reassuring message about Le Normand against Harry Kane: that duel was already seen in the Euro final, and the centre-back came out on top. Later, during the same live stream, Sorloth was confirmed in the starting XI and Rubén Uría declared that Carballo had nailed it.
