José David López warns: 'This is a very, very wounded Bayern'
No Luis Díaz, no Musiala, Olise struggling and Kompany off the bench with meningitis
Bayern Munich analysed position by position in the El Club Uría preview
Rubén Uría sees a frightening Bayern line-up. José David López, an international football specialist, disagrees: this Bayern side arrives relying on plan C, and today is the day for Atleti to make a statement.
On 'El Club Uría', Rubén Uría raises the question hanging over the build-up: there is plenty of talk about Bayern's absentees, but the starting XI they can still field looks formidable to him. José David López qualifies that view: Bayern have a lot, but today they are badly wounded.
His rundown is emphatic. Without Luis Díaz, the undisputed owner of the left flank, the team loses a difference-maker. Musiala has suffered another setback after a year almost entirely lost. Olise is struggling badly and it is doubtful he will start. Lennart Karl, the gem of the academy, could fill in on the right and Bischoff, signed from Hoffenheim, in the number 10 role, but they are not the same. On the left, Alphonso Davies would be converted into a winger.
On top of all that, he adds something that surprises the studio: Kompany, their coach, is suffering from meningitis, is not even allowed to talk about football and will not even be on the bench. The conclusion is clear: from an Atlético point of view, this is the day to make a statement. Rubén, however, remains sceptical.
